EALING BOOK FESTIVAL LAUNCH SELLS OUT AS DATES FOR 2024 FESTIVAL PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED
Official launch of the Ealing Book Festival at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery saw over 100 book lovers attend events with best-selling author Rory Cellan-Jones and author and illustrator duo Judith Eagle and Kim Geyer.
Dates for Ealing Book Festival 2024 announced with a full programme scheduled for Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th April 2024.
Following a successful launch event, the dates for the inaugural Ealing Book Festival 2024 have been announced. Between Thursday 11th and Sunday 14th April 2024 the festival will deliver a full programme of exciting and varied events including discussions with nationally-renowned authors and well-known local writers; engaging panel discussions; book signings; and fun activities for all ages, in partnership with Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery and Savills.
Ealing Book Festival officially launched on Thursday, 16th November 2023, when tickets sold out for an evening with writer and ex-BBC journalist Rory Cellan-Jones as he discussed his newly published memoir Ruskin Park with former BBC arts journalist Rebecca Jones. Earlier in the afternoon, a children’s event saw author Judith Eagle and illustrator Kim Geyer lead an investigation into the mystery of a dangerous art heist set in the 1950s, just like Caro Monday - heroine of their latest book, The Stolen Songbird.
Catherine Jaquiss, Chair, Ealing Book Festival, said: “The success of our launch event shows there is huge pent-up demand for a book festival in Ealing. The interest we’ve seen so far bodes well for the full festival in April 2024, and we’re looking forward to bringing a dynamic and varied programme to Ealing which celebrates the joy of reading and writing, and reflects our vibrant and diverse borough. Put the dates in your diary!
“Staging a book festival on this scale is a lot of work and we are extremely grateful for the support of Pitzhanger and Savills. We would love to meet anyone else interested in supporting Ealing Book Festival, be it through volunteering their time or connections, or providing sponsorship.”
Ealing Book Festival is an exciting and ambitious new cultural event for West London. It will take place annually and is intended to appeal to all ages, providing readers and writers with an opportunity to connect with one another and explore the borough’s vibrant literary scene.
The 2024 festival will be centred in and around Pitzhanger Manor, the beautiful, restored house of architect Sir John Soane which sits in the Regency grounds of Walpole Park in central Ealing. With its stunning architectural features and gorgeous views over the park it is the perfect home for creativity, inspiration and imagination. Founder sponsor Savills has played an instrumental role in helping to bring this ambitious new cultural programme to the borough of Ealing.
