Schools and Families Lead

Our volunteer Schools and Families Lead will develop our schools’ outreach programme. As a member of our management team they will advise and lead on the development of the programme.

Responsibilities:

In consultation with Ealing educators and librarians, develop an attractive schools’ programme;

Identify any funding required to implement the programme, and work with the Fundraising Lead to identify and apply for grants/sponsorship;

Identify and consult with any partners necessary to implement the programme;

Coordinate the implementation of the programme;

Design and deliver the Ealing Book Festival Young Poets Competition;

Evaluate the programme on completion, bringing lessons learnt into future programmes.

Time Commitment:

The Ealing Book Festival is an annual event taking place in April meaning the summer months typically require little input, planning commences in September and activity will increase as we approach the Festival. We appreciate that activity levels for the Schools and Families Lead may not follow this cycle and they may need to start planning for the next festival during the summer term.

Fundraising Lead

Our volunteer Fundraising Lead will join our management team to ensure we have the necessary funds in place to cover the costs associated with running the festival.

Responsibilities:

Agree annual fundraising targets with the trustees;

Work with the trustees and management team to agree best - approaches to fundraising, including identifying potential sponsors;

Together with the marketing team, develop a sponsorship matrix with different tiers of sponsorship;

Together with the marketing team, develop sponsorship collateral;

Develop relationships and liaise with approved local businesses to secure sponsorship;

Ensure that all aspects of agreed sponsorship packages are fulfilled;

Identify and apply for relevant grants;

Develop easyfundraising and JustGiving as sources of revenue;

Organise public acknowledgement and thanks to donors.

Time Commitment:

This will fluctuate depending on the fundraising schedule but should average approximately 2-3 hours per week.
